The State Farm UIM Coverage Settlement involves a class action lawsuit alleging that State Farm violated New Mexico law regarding the sale of the underinsured motorist (UIM) component of Uninsured and Unknown Motorist Coverage (U Coverage). The lawsuit claims that State Farm failed to properly explain the offset procedures required under New Mexico law when adjusting UIM claims. The settlement offers cash payments to eligible New Mexico policyholders who had U Coverage between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2021.
